Next event: IEEE/PCS in Montreal!
The IEEE Professional Communication Society conference will be held in Montreal this month, July 13 - 16. Keynote will be Saul Carliner, conference chair is Kirk St.Amant, and the meeting rooms are over at Concordia University. I’ll be speaking three times at this one:
- On a panel with Judith Herr, Marj Davis, and Pam Estes Brewer talking about “Developing Interactive Relationships Online”. One of the interesting things about this particular panel is that we’ve made a conscious effort to include 2 academics and 2 practitioners on the panel. I think it will be really interesting for us as well as for the audience!
- Presenting a paper (really, the third in the series) on “Ready for Anything: Writing Business Continuity Plans and Conducting Awareness Training”. The prior two (in Seattle 2007 and Saratoga Springs 2006) were on other aspects of emergency preparedness for the business setting.
- (this is the biggie!!) During the last session in Montreal, I’ll be hosting the kick-off for our 2009 conference in HAWAII!! We’re still building the team, if anyone wants to help.
